Nutrition and Health Policy

Preface:

Master Kong recognizes that nutrition serves as the essential material foundation for sustaining human life, ensuring growth and development, and promoting physical and mental well-being. Balanced diets and nutrition education constitute the most fundamental, cost-effective, and efficient strategies and measures to address public nutrition and health challenges.?? As a leading enterprise in China’s food and beverage industry, Master Kong is committed to meeting Chinese consumers’ demands for high-quality, diversified healthy dietary options. Through breakthroughs and innovations in our R&D capabilities, we continuously enhance the health-added value of our products, achieving the evolution and upgrading of our portfolio from convenience-focused to taste-driven, and ultimately to health-oriented offerings.?

Scope of Application:

This Policy applies to ??Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holding Corporation?? (hereinafter referred to as “Master Kong”, “the Group” or “we”) and all its subsidiaries and affiliates. We strongly ??encourage external stakeholders?? with business relationships with the Group, including ??suppliers, contractors, and business partners??, to ??adhere to?? this Policy and ??jointly contribute?? to the advancement of the ??“Healthy China”?? initiative.

Basis of Preparation:

Master Kong has formulated the Nutrition and Health Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) with reference to the Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Activity and Health (WHO, 2004), the “Healthy China 2030” Blueprint issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, the National Nutrition Plan (2017-30) issued by the General Office of the State Council in 2017, and the Healthy China Initiative (2019-2030) issued by the Healthy China Action Promotion Committee in 2019, in combination with Master Kong’s relevant business operations.

Policy Contents:

  • Nutrition and Health Principles
    1. Integrate nutrition and health considerations into all R&D activities including product design, innovation, and technical collaborations, and continuously increase investment in health and nutrition products to enhance the nutritional value of our offerings;
    2. Actively advocate the diet concept of reasonable diet and balanced eating and moving, and promote a healthy lifestyle for the general consumer population together with the government and industry partners;
    3. ??Continuously develop small-portion products with dedicated packaging designs??, enabling consumers who prefer smaller portions to enjoy the high-quality products of Master Kong while avoiding excessive calorie intake and reducing food waste and excess consumption, meeting the needs of consumers in pursuing a “healthy diet and exquisite life”.
    4. ??Adhere to responsible marketing principles??, all Master Kong products in global markets ??clearly display nutrient declaration?? and ??supplementary nutrition information??. All health and nutrition claims are ??based on scientific data, with ??strict prohibition?? of exaggerated or misleading information about products’ nutrition and health benefits.
    5. Fully consider the affordability of products through reasonable product pricing strategies, promoting universal access to products, while continuously improving product accessibility via expanded distribution channels to achieve safe, convenient and sustainable product supply.?
  • Health and Nutrition Program
    1. With reference to the nutrition and health standards recommended by authoritative domestic and international institutions such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Health Commission of the PRC, establish product-specific nutrition and health standards, defining content criteria for key components (primarily including added sugars, sodium, saturated fats, protein, and calcium) to provide scientific evaluation guidelines for product development and upgrading, and actively participate in the development of international, national, and industry health and nutrition standards;
    2. Set up Master Kong Central Research Institute, Instant Noodles R&D Center, Beverage R&D Center, and Basic Research Department focusing on the research and development and innovation of food safety and quality, health and nutrition and process optimization, while maintaining ongoing collaborations with external professional institutions;
    3. In terms of the R&D of instant noodles, Master Kong actively responds to the “Three Reductions and Three Kinds of Health” campaign by continuously increasing investment in product R&D. We adhere to the concepts of salt reduction, oil reduction, and low fat, while developing non-fried processing techniques, fresh-locking technology for seasoning packets, and aerospace freeze-drying technology for vegetables; In terms of beverage R&D, the Group focuses on the development of sugar-free, low-fat products, and launched sugar-free, low-sugar, low-fat and zero-fat drinks; In terms of Bakery R&D, we fortify calcium and other nutrients, enhance dietary fiber content, and reduce sugar and fat to ensure balanced nutrition in our products;
    4. Establish the multidimensional product nutrition profiling system?s, such as a nutritional advantage assessment model and nutrient profiling model, to scientifically evaluate product nutritional quality, optimize product formulations, and facilitate the development of new nutrition-focused products as well as the upgrade of existing ones;
    5. Strengthen nutrition and health research for all population groups, with priority given to populations such as children, adolescents, middle-aged and elderly populations, to better understand their nutritional needs. We have developed product series including sports drinks for active consumers, traditional Chinese wellness teas catering to young adults’ health preservation preferences, and specially formulated sugar-free and low-sugar beverage options for those managing sugar intake.?

Policy Review and Revise:

Master Kong periodically reviews this Policy and revises it in line with the latest laws, regulatory developments and business conditions. Employees must keep themselves informed of any updates and ensure that their conduct remains in full compliance with this Policy.
